Tony Castillo is a professional bass player (fretted, fretless, acoustic, upright), harmony singer. Born in Cuba, he came to America at an early age with his Caribbean music influence that soon melted and blended with American Rock and Blues music. He started as a flute player in High School played first chair 3 out of the four years in concert band. Started playing bass also in high school playing in an assortment of local bands. Currently, Tony is recording with "The Herman Jimenez Band" as well as the Gospel group "Nations Feet" on their new CD and touring during the Summer. On the local scene, Tony plays weekly with various Chicago artist and spoken word groups throughout the city. Currently playing with local bands "The Viaducts" and "Squirrel Mummies" getting ready for the Summer Chicago outdoor festival season. Tony is an active endorsing artist for Xsonics Cabinets, you see him smiling often while playing his Lakland or his custom made HR Bass Guitar through his Xsonics gear.
