Band to Join, Drums.ABOUT
Bass player/vocalist(lead/backing)/synth/programming/acoustic 6-string/percussion w/almost 35 yrs experience, proficient in many styles but prefer progressive rock, from King Crimson to Tool...
Spent the last decade in a solo period, taking advantage of multitrack software to explore my creativity without making schedules or lugging amps, but have had my fill and crave the stage and live interaction with other players once again. I can accomodate most rock, pop, funk, or metal flavor; early primary bass influences include Geddy Lee, John Paul Jones, Roger Waters, Les Claypool, Flea, Chris Squire, Sting, Victor Krummenacher, Mike Watt, John Wetton, Tony Levin, Cliff Burton, Trevor Ray Dunn and John Entwistle, to scratch the surface. James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Tool, Janes Addiction, Soundgarden, fIREHOSE, Victims Family, NIN, it would take a looooong time to think of as 'influencial' to me, only listing recording artists. Literature and painting, film and comedy, cooking...i consider all art to have the ability to influence, inspire or otherwise teach something -even if its what NOT to do, lol. One never knows where from next the Inspirado may
strike, only to keep on the look-out.
Im looking for creative players/writers to do something original: guitarists, keyboardists, drummers, etc. for a collaboration project, ultimately, but am also interested in contributing to other acts/projects as well. I am a huge fan of playing covers, and would like to find a band or two locally in which to do so, especially if focused on vocal harmony: CSNY, Yes, STP, The Beatles, etc. I like to sing when i play. I have 3 semesters voice training, and typically can work tenor parts best, but have a decent range, including falsetto. My vocal influences are many, im most at home in James Taylor's general register but Geddy Lee, Perry Farrel, Shannon Hoon, Björk, Jon Anderson, Stevie Wonder, James Keenan, Mike Patton, and others have always pushed me to have a wider range at my disposal.
So, there's me. Im not a gearhead, and currently dont own much amplication equipment, as i have been recording direct or with mics in private for almost 10 years, but will be on the lookout for a rig for gig-work over the next few months. I can be reached via txt 5592602401
