Would most likely start out as a band that does covers since I’m not too familiar with my instrument (i.e. guitar; bar chords which I’m pretty comfortable with). I do like to sing however and think I have the potential to be a really good singer.
Maybe take some detours into classic pop in the vein of The Millennium & Sagittarius, The Left Banke, The Beatles, The New Pornographers [Twin Cinema], Big Star, The Byrds (full of harmonious melodies & beautiful vocal harmonies: 70s-80s power pop, late 60s sunshine/baroque pop. Songs that emphasize melody, satisfying chord changes and harmony are the kind of covers I’d like to try playing first.
If we develop as a band and as players, I would love to eventually make some very creative, original, innovative music: the next great rock/pop group after Talking Heads, Radiohead, XTC, The Beach Boys, Crowded House, Talk Talk, Elvis Costello & The Attractions… but would definitely have to see where it goes first.

Honestly, if it turns out I’m just making friends at the end of the day I’m totally cool with that. But I feel like I definitely have some creativity I’d like to put out into the world.
