ABOUT

I am interested in original live music situations. Will relocate for the right project.

*The genres to pick listed above next to my profile photo are limited; therefore, in addition to “Rock”, I have selected “Other” and this would encompass singer-songwriter, hard rock, stoner rock, a touch of metal, garage rock, etc. I’m not limiting myself or any band that would consider me. There are dozens of sub-genres out there. I’ll play anything as long as it resonates with me. However, please note ... Although I sometimes incorporate a double bass pedal, I am not a double bass drum player by modern standards. I can use it in certain fills or accents and short runs of 16th notes or general rhythm. I love double bass drum players, but I have never been in a band that needed or wanted it for its music.*

Things that are in my wheelhouse: Career-minded - Confident yet not arrogant - Team player (a band mate not a Band-Aid) - I understand support, tone, groove and balance - Will make project a priority - No fear of success - Honest and open-minded - Natural sense of rhythm - Song-serving - Professional attitude - Entrepreneurial mindset - Quick study - Natural instincts - Never late to rehearsals - Can hear changes on the fly - Reliable transportation to and from gigs - Tight, solid player that pays attention to what is going on musically - Self-motivated and able to learn songs accurately and efficiently at home with limited rehearsal - Ability to adapt - Plays what's good for the music and not for my ego - Open to genre blending - Can be charismatic if the project allows - Do not overplay the drum parts - Strive to be a human metronome - Maintain feel for an extended period of time, never wavering (this is often referred to as a deep pocket) - Ability to contribute to songs in regards to arrangements and vocal parts - Can perform lead and back-up vocals - Predictability - Drive - Ambition - Devotion - Stamina - Image conscious - Know how to play with visual style - Dress and conduct myself professionally - Have been playing and performing consistently since nineteen eighty-six (except during the pandemic) - Attention to detail - Play to a click, live if needed - Appear to be having fun on stage - Can explore my instrument or just keep tempo - Not shy of the audience or people - Energetic - Comfortable with and willing to use In-Ear monitors on stage - Have a sense of humor (I like burritos) - Teaching experienced - Festivals, tours and fairs experienced - Laid back - No drama - Have passport.

I have booking experience. I was in charge of bookings for three of my original bands.

I know the difference between the words 'practice' and 'rehearsal'. Studied under Kip "Kippy" Volans and Ray Porrello.

Shared the stage with Quiet Riot, Kip Winger, Pretty Boy Floyd, Drain STH, Rik Emmett, Enuff Z'Nuff, Nazareth, Slaughter, The Godz, Ted Riser, Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd tribute), Glen Schwartz, Impotent Sea Snakes, CryptKicker and many other wonderful local acts.
