ABOUT

I’ve been a semi-professional keyboard and saxophone player - always a live performer. Rock bands, big bands(sax) duos, trios, “unplugged” things, overplugged things (thanks to digital) music theater and mega church piano and keyboards too. I’ve always been part of the best band… in our price range. I am not a music snob, only if I’m having fun or getting paid a lot. But I don’t need the money these days. So you better have chops. Sadly, most people suck at their craft. And if they’re so stupid to call it “their craft” and still suck, well that’s extra sad.
Maybe you’ve barely enough talent and put tons of hard work to compensate accordingly into things? That’ll work. Anyone else or if you’re not fun, I don’t want to play with you. If you can make me want to push my limits and actually rehearse, it better be worth it. But here’s the test - don’t bother me if you’re uninterested in:

willing to play a 3 hour gig with me in the next couple of weeks. You better sing and have some equipment. We will have no time to practice or play ahead of time, but we’ll talk for about an hour and from there, you know we’ll be perfectly fine - unless somehow the gig is performing for the faculty of Berkeley.

Are you unsure of yourself? Or message me.

But I cannot have fun without someone else there who is bringing more to the party than myself. Started playing bars in high school, and paid for college playing gigs big and small. I don’t need the money anymore, and I do not have the patience for being the best player in a group. I’m relatively lazy and competitive, so let’s go. At least I want to have fun. So you can’t be broke too. Bring something! anything?
