I have been writing songs for the last 4 years and have had 5 of them published through a Nashville publisher, the publisher has not had an artist sign on to any of the songs as yet. I have held back many of my songs from the publisher who puts his own music to my lyrics. I feel the melodies I have created to some of my songs are more appropriate than the music the publisher has been adding, I am looking to create a demo with my lyrics and melody to send off to different publishers!
