ABOUT

Hi! My performing name is Zephryn. I am 36.

I am seeking some dedicated collaborators to create a darkwave type group/project. I want to perform live eventually. I want to produce albums and music videos. I want to build beautiful enduring symbiotic relationships with the people I collaborate with.

My skill level I would consider medium range, but always improving. I am looking for other people in a similar range or more advanced who would be open to working together because our energies and ideas mesh exceptionally well.

I have created/produced what I like to call, surreal neon death pop, for about 7 years now. It is electronic music composed from synth keyboards within garage band. I sing. I write my own lyrics too. I consider my style avant garde, macabre, energetic, eclectic and eccentric. My vocals do strange versatile things. Unless specifically stated as a sample, all of my material is original. I have made a few music videos so far. I love music (and art) and am completely devoted to creative self expression. It has saved my life in many ways.

Influences

Oooo let's see here. This list goes on and on, but to begin with my current inspirations: Kite, Assemblage 23, Black Nail Cabaret, ODDKO, Grimes, Maneskin, C-Lekktor, Bauhaus, Jain, In This Moment, Jinjer, Curse Mackey, Nina Hagen, Zanias . . . when merged together, I feel these influences have helped me formulate the surreal neon death pop sound I make. There are some songs that have moved me so deeply that I feel they're worthy of a mention, even if I don't necessarily directly bring their essence into my process. Those are: Icarus by Synthetic Epiphany, Let It Be by Blackmill, McQueen by Mosh, Serpent Of Old by Seven, Lions, Baroque pipe organ music, especially Bach (who brilliantly drives the listener to the verge of madness only to then swiftly regain a supremely intense yet smooth clarity and calmness...glory!) and much more.

EQUIPMENT

Myself and garage band at the moment. I very sadly had to sell my keyboard and microphone setup a couple years ago, but hopefully I can obtain those again quickly.
