ABOUT

Looking to form a band to write songs with as the lead singer.

I’ve been singing and writing songs from the moment I could form words. At a point in my life I was able to play the flute and violin, but dropped both to pick up guitar and piano. With how busy life got, I wasn’t able to dedicate the time to learning like I wanted to, but I miss singing to a crowd. Sharing a story and a feeling. I’m on here to find a group of people that like to write, to share a story, to lose themselves in the music. I’d like to find people to create with and perform with.

Now for a bit about me… I’ve been told I have golden retriever energy by more than a couple people. So there must be some credibility there. I’ve also been told I’m vibrant. Whether it be for the plethora of whacky hair dyes finding their way to the tips of my hair or my personality, we may never know. I care about spreading and documenting feelings and stories. I do it with my photography, my art, the stories I write, and the lyrics I jot down. Life goes too quickly… and it’s far too great to not remember. I live in the moment and for the moment, but I like capturing them too.

Influences

Although my mom can’t hold a tune, my grandmother was a vocalist and guitarist in her own country band in Long Island New York about half a century ago. When she was diagnosed with Lewy Bodies dementia, a lot of her faded, but the music never did. Her and I sang together until the very end. It was the one thing that could calm her and that bond became everything to me.

My brother took on the music gene too, playing bass, guitar, drums, you name it. After an injury to his hand he couldn’t play any more and DNA (D&A, his and my initials) ended in our garage before it even began. We even spray painted the walls with the band name. Pity, really.

EQUIPMENT

Ha. Vocal cords. I do have a keyboard and an acoustic-electric guitar though. And a piccolo and flute somewhere at the bottom of my closet.
