ABOUT

I'm a trumpet player of 45 years, Berklee class of 86, thousands of gigs with top Phlly area horn bands, salsa bands, large and small jazz groups, clubs, weddings, recordings and have written hundreds of horn arrangements- many currently in play by those bands including Don't Call Me Francis, Chatterband, The Exceptions Jellyroll and The Urban Guerilla Orchestra among others. I have big ears and can fake it with the best of 'em when needed. Very reliable backup vocalist. Also a drummer with jazz rock and funk roots. Influences

Far too many to mention. I am a big listener. The section work of Jerry Hey, Tower of Power and many of the latter day big band sections incl. Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Rob McConnell. As a band member, I concern myself with the sound of the section over my own concerns.

EQUIPMENT

Shilke trumpet and Flugelhorn. Conn 6H Valve Trombone Beyer M201 mic and my own wireless monitor. For home recording I have a pair of A-T large diaphragm condensers, a Steinberg interface and run Cakewalk on a PC. I write with the help of Wavelab and work in pencil..(which I scan, cleanup and create PDF files from) players always respond positively to my charts' readability. My Drums are Slingerland with Zildjian and Sabian cymbals.
