ABOUT

Although I enjoy the genres listed, I don't limit myself to those, I just felt like I should select my top three preferences. I am looking to join a creative project, and am not too hung up about what genre it is, as long as the music is good and the people get along.

To describe myself: I play with artistic simplicity. I do not try to show off my chops in order to prove I am a virtuoso; instead I use the technique I feel will best accompany the song and music in order to contribute to the greater good. I won't play lead drums, and instead am very interested in the groove and feel of the song. I have a slight funk / swing feel to my groove. But don't worry, I have all the chops needed.

Most likely, you will either absolutely love the sound of my drums or completely hate them. They are very open, kind of rich and complex, and I only use a little bit of muffle on the kick batter side, with no other muffling on the set at all. I spent years learning to tune the kit so that all the sound could be used, as opposed to sticking tape and muffles and pillows all over the place. I like to play the cymbals and hi-hat more quietly than the drums - I want the drums to stand out.

If you blended Taylor Hawkins sound

with John Bonham's sound

and with Zigaboo's sound (://.drummerworld/drummers/Joseph_Modeliste.html)

you get close to what I'm trying to do...
