SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
I have been performing and recording professionally for over 35 years. My wife and I recently move to Georgia from the LA area. I have a full time job and am looking for playing opportunities around the Atlanta area, and are also open to short tours as well. Before moving out I performed with Shine On, an eleven piece Pink Floyd Tribute band* in Orange County, CA where I was the director, sang the lead Roger Waters parts, backgrounds, and played drums and percussion. My wife was also one of the background vocalists in that band as well. Shine On performed in large and multi-night venues such as Las Vegas etc. I perform and do brief tours with Kristin Orphan* who is a Christian/Country artist as her drummer, and my wife also joins us on background vocals as well, Kristin is in the Fort Collins CO area. My wife (who sang the lead vocal) and I also had a 5-piece jazz combo called Cafe Society Club* where we performed jazz standards to the style of Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney etc. I was concurrently the section drummer in a few other bands, one being a Tom Jones tribute band (Atomic Jones) while regularly serving at church doing contemporary Christian worship. I've written in collaboration with some great partners, produced and recorded albums from LA to Nashville**. I love and have played just about every kind of music, lost my ego years ago, and am looking just to play, meet some new friends and have fun. I'm not so much into to endless jamming, I like to work towards a goal, get out there and knock em dead!
I'm open to just about everything: Rock, Country, Americana, Southern Gothic, Funk, R&B, Soul, Latin, Jazz, Worship.
As a side, I am also versed in design and video editing. To view that portfolio go to: s://.behance/WDLawrence
I look forward to hearing from you.
