While I'm still fairly new to digging into jazz as a whole, I've found the journey to be very inspiring and has completely revitalized my love of guitar. I'm more interested in "intimate" jazz, somewhere in between the Julian Lage trio and "I Have the Room Above Her" by Bill Frisell, Paul Motian, and Joe Lovano. I'm admittedly not great at reading music, but I've spent most of my life learning by ear and I can learn quickly. I'd like to meet musicians who are willing to eventually play gigs once in a while, but I'm more interested in getting a small group (preferably a trio) who can build a foundation of learning to play off each other and are okay with more gentle jazz styles.
I have just really missed playing with other people and it's been difficult finding like-minded players who just want to experience the joy of creating music without expectations of making a career out of it or chasing trends. I want to be able to sit in it.
Laid back, originals and covers both welcome.
