I am an extremely prolific songwriter with around 3000 original songs and over 100 self-released albums to my name. The last time I worked with a band was in 2001 and I have been operating as a fully contained solo artist ever since. However, the time has now come to perhaps start working some of those songs out with others. Ideally, I would start with just one other musician, at least for a bit, and work up a solid repertoire of songs, and then add other instruments as we go. As for any sort of plan, I am fine with rocking the hell out of the basement and stockpiling recordings, both formal and informal, and I am perfectly okay with throwing it all away to hit the golden road.....or anything in between.

Influences
At this point, I am pretty much only influenced by my own prior work but my sound, which varies from song to song, is the result of having grown up with The Beatles, U2, REM, Grateful Dead, Phish, Rush, Big Country, Marillion, Guided By Voices, The Tragically Hip, The Monkees, Yes, Kate Bush, Pink Floyd, The Byrds, Stone Roses, T.Rex, and pretty much every other thing you can think of. While I can appreciate rap and metal, very little of that has ever found its way into the sound, but most everything else has crept in. But really my songs just sound like my songs.

EQUIPMENT
I'm not a gear head, by any stretch of the imagination, and it's been decades since I have even plugged in to an amp, but my main guitar is a Gretsch "historic series" acoustic; I have several electrics but mainly stick with a hybrid Strat/Tele that was built for me, as well as a Gibson 335; for bass, I play a blue Hofner; I have an Ibanez acoustic mandolin and an electric Epiphone Mando-bird. I have a bunch of other random guitars & basses, as well as a banjo and tons of hand percussion. Almost all of my recording is done on a Zoom MRS802-B, which is slightly archaic but it does me well.
