ABOUT

*** ANNUAL FESTIVAL SEEKING MUSICIANS & VOCALISTS ***

ARE YOU A TALENTED MUSICIAN? (with skill level from intermediate.... to semi-pro.... to pro)
Are you one of those who are not able to join or form a band due to one or more of following reasons?
1.) You have a family, a job, a busy life, or just not enough free time.
2.) You don't have the time or inclination to audition endlessly, rehearse weekly, find the right musicians, try to get into decent clubs (for fair pay), carry instruments, equipment and PA systems around, etc.
3.) You would much rather perform the songs YOU want to play for a large appreciative audience AND meet musicians that want to do the same?

THEN THIS POST IS FOR YOU!!! ..................................... (PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY)

We are reaching out to musicians that might be interested in performing at a Classic Rock/Progressive Rock Music Festival that we host annually on our 20 acre ranch in the Brooksville/Spring Hill area. This is NOT for bands looking for a showcase. This is for talented musicians who want to perform great songs in a festival environment, and meet other great musicians of the same mindset.

"Prog On The Ranch" is an annual THREE DAY festival (now in our 5th year and growing) that is associated with ProgStock and Cruise To The Edge (which you may have heard of). Our organizers have been the late-night-live music coordinators on Cruise To The Edge for the past 3 years. Our past shows have included members of Yes, Genesis, Asia, Spock's Beard, Saga, Enchant, Lifesigns, and more!

"Prog On The Ranch" (POTR) is a unique event which attracts Prog and Rock musicians from 14 countries, plus many local Tampa Bay musicians who come to perform both Progressive Rock, and Classic Rock from the 70's to the present with other talented like-minded musicians, for an audience of several hundred fans from all over the country. The process involves having access to our Online Song Selection "Grid" Website throughout the next few months (at no cost), where you and the other musicians post the songs YOU would like to perform at the festival from the comfort of your home, and also allows you to add yourself to many of the songs that other musicians post over the course of several months. As each song attains a full roster of players, the completed songs "go green" and gets a slot on the POTR performance schedule. This past February, 73 musicians performed 110 songs in different configurations over three days for an audience of 400+ people. It was a blast for all involved (sample video links are at the end of this post)

This is NOT "pay-to-play". It is free to participate, have full access to the network of musicians you'll meet online throughout the year, as well as meet and perform with other great musicians at the event. And if you have a terrific time at "Prog On The Ranch" and feel it is something you enjoyed doing, you are free to make a donation of any size (to simply help us cover our expenses for coordinating this event) ....or not. There's no pressure.

This event is "BY INVITATION ONLY" (which is why you likely have never heard of it). The event is open to all ages from 16 and above, whether musician or audience member. Everyone rehearses on their own, at home at their own pace, and each song you choose to learn will likely involve a totally different group of players, many of whom meet for the 1st time just before they hit the stage together. It's a terrific experience, and many of our players come back year after year to perform with musicians they have already performed with, and to meet and perform with new musicians that they met on the Online Grid prior to the event, and are about to perform with for the 1st time (without prior rehearsal as a group, which is very spontaneous and exciting!)

This process will allow you to network online and ultimately meet with musicians from all over the world, and local musicians, to play the music you love, without having to audition for bands, form a band, rehearse regularly, attempt to get gigs, etc. And it will put you on a large well equipped stage with vetted musicians to play for an audience of appreciative music fans. Everything is filmed, and you are certain to get a lot of exposure on the internet and YouTube. There is a very minimal Gate fee of $15 for the ENTIRE 3 day event (which includes a huge country breakfast on the first day). You may invite as many guests as you like.

This event will take place in April 2020. We will know the exact date within the coming few weeks. Putting together this event is a massive undertaking for us, and we need to begin planning as much as a year in advance, to make sure everything goes smoothly, that we have all the musicians in place, and that everyone understands how the Online Grid works (it's very simple), so they can access their songs, and communicate with the other players on their songs throughout the year.

Believe it or not..... being a member of "The Grid" and the POTR Facebook Page with so many like-minded musicians is almost as much fun as performing at the event.

This is NOT a money making venture. We do it for the love of music, and to bring together like-minded musicians who just want to perform for a large audience on a great stage, without having the constraints and obligations of being in a band and searching for gigs.

There is nothing quite like "Prog On The Ranch" anywhere else in the USA (or the world). We guarantee that you will meet terrific musicians, both local and from several countries, make great new friends, and have one of the best weekends of your life!

If this is something you might be interested in, let's talk further about it. Send me an email with your questions if you have any. Hope to hear from you :-)

Best regards,
Bill
