Looking for a keys player to join semi-regular informal jam sessions.
We’re a group of friends who have been playing together for over 15 years. We used to gig regularly, but now we just get together for the fun of it and to jam away on some tunes, old and new, cover and original.
Our normal keys player has a schedule conflict for the next couple months, so we’re looking for someone to join in the fun and fill out the sound. We aim for Tuesday nights. It usually ends up being about twice a month, but the schedule is not really regular. We have drums, 2 guitars, vocals, and bass.
The jam sessions are very loose. We’re really just there to enjoy ourselves, not to get songs highly polished, so if you can improvise and find a way to fit in with the groove, that would be perfect. There’s no pressure to learn a big song list, although we do have recordings of things you can listen to if you want.
The style of music varies, but it generally revolves around jamband music (like Phish), funky stuff (like Galactic or New Mastersounds), and soulful/blues tunes (like Marcus King or Tedeschi Trucks). Please note that we’re just regular guys with day jobs, so we’re about 1% as talented as those bands—but you get the idea!
The location is Face The Music studios in Havertown/Upper Darby. We have our own room with all our gear, PA, recording rig, couches, beer fridge, etc. We can make noise until any hour of the night without bothering anyone. It’s fun.
