ABOUT

My name is Jon Green and I have been playing the mandolin for about 3 years. Though I have been only playing mandolin for a short time, I spend at least 6 hours a day honing my craft and take lessons from one of the best Mandolin players in Richmond, VA. I have played/sat in with several top bands in Richmond, VA including; Dalton Dash, South Hill Banks, Jackass Flats to name a few. I currently hold a residency at Cary St Cafe in which I play with a band called The Come Hears. It is not a very serious band so I am not tied to any commitments other then our one show a week during Wednesday evenings from 4-730

Influences

I grew up listening to Classic Rock and transgressed into the Jam Band music scene in high school. From this I discovered a love for bluegrass/newgrass. Some of my biggest influences are Greensky Bluegrass, Yonder Mountain String Band, Sam Bush, David Grisman, Chris Thile, Pink Floyd and Phish to name a few
