I'm an energetic, extroverted bass player. I LOVE to play anything that's LOW: upright bass, bass guitar, tuba, bari sax, bass drum, only the low notes on the piano (haha), Ace of "Bass"... you get the picture. I basically started on bari sax over 20 years ago and all I dream about is low, gut wrenching rock bass to crazy funk/pop basslines, to one day being able to play Victor Wooten level (well, "relative level") bass skills.
I picked up my upright after a 10 year hiatus and bought a fretless bass in November 2023 and have been going non-stop to be gig ready for a band.
I mostly gigged in high school/college with a local swing band and Dixieland band. I am nothing crazy (although all the guys I played with where TOP skills) but I was able to hold my own.
I can read sheet music and tabs. I have some fundamental music theory knowledge. I am good enough to play the basics for your average rock song and am working on my advanced skills daily.
Looking for a band that might need a filler bass and is willing to add me on as I continue to develop my advanced skills and maybe be worth keeping on.
