LOOKING FOR LEAD GUITARIST WITH VOCAL ABILITY for the Dock Squares band. We're an established, award-winning cover band of seven years with great following; gigging 7-10 times a month May-December and less in the off season; we rehearse several times a year and are looking for a lead guitarist to replace a member who passed away some months ago.. Ideally, this person could sing a handful of leads and do backing vocals/harmonies. No shredding called for. The band has a female lead singer and we also have saxophonist, bass player and percussionist. Everyone sings harmony and some leads. Our repertoire is "classic,” a combination of mellow and danceable tunes (Rock’n’Roll, Blues, Jazz, Pop). Most of our gigs are between Portland and Portsmouth. We play Baby Boomer, old standards about up to the '80s. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Linda Ronstadt, Sheryl Crow, Steve Miller, Otis Redding, Everly Bros. Bonnie Raitt, Doors, Norah Jones, Eagles, Buddy Holly, Carly Simon, Carole King, Clapton, some Motown and some standards (King of the Road, Route 66) and the like.
