Influences
Born in Tennessee. Appalachia influenced me; deep hollers filled with bluegrass, Randy Travis, and Amazing Grace. I Grew up poor white trash in a black community. Pretty proud of that, actually. Sang in church. Motown also influenced me. The O’Jays, Gladys Knight, Wilco, D’Angelo, GAP Band, Elton John, James Taylor, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, the Commodores, The Steeldrivers (Bluegrass), Eric Church, the Muddy Magnolias, and CeCe Winans (Christian) dominate my playlist.
