ABOUT

I am looking for a singer to try to compose together. Overall, I would do the music, you would create the song melody(s) as well as the lyrics. (but you could also propose your compositions where I will put my paw...)
Big challenge: I live in France! So everything would be done through the web.
For what is legality of the right, we would each declare our parts of compositions for what is income on the edition in streaming and possibly vinyls. (In France, there is the SACEM which takes care of this, but it can be done with an American organization in the same way).

It will be necessary to discuss on which platform to exchange (I know Wetransfer for rather heavy files but in Mp3 it is lighter to work).
You need a way to record yourself in good quality all the same with a view to a final product (Wav format, a good microphone, an interface, a Daw, etc.)
For the genre, it would be ELECTRONIC POP on which I would like a slightly soulful voice. I really like what The Weeknd had done on "Blinding lights" or with Daft punk on: "I feel it comin'" or "Starboy", or earlier a voice like Gnarls Barkley on "It makes me crazy". I would like us to arrive at more mainstream compositions with a structure of fairly classic pieces (Intro / Pre chorus / Chorus / Bridge / etc...).
For what I still consider to be quality and not to do as we say in French "de la daube". Trying to obtain quality without falling into too many facilities, what...
But I do not claim to have a sufficient level to reach those previously mentioned, but good examples must be given. And I'm still quite a beginner in this area, having never released a piece in streaming or otherwise.

Anyway before that, we have to do some tests to see if we can create something interesting together. Otherwise ....

So much for these few words of presentation of a project. If you are interested, contact me, and we will see how to do these tests.

Influences

One influence in particular is difficult for me to determine.
On the other hand, I listened to a lot of things; in different styles and that I appreciated, I will quote huge artists known to all and who have made the history of music. Rock (AC DC, Stones, Led Zep) and r'n'r (Elvis), pop (U2, Beach Boys, Coldplay), soul (starting with M Gaye, M Jackson, Fugees), a little reggae (Marley of course and Ken Boothe), then punctually by a different style like the grunge of Nirvana, or the funk of James Brown, some alternatives like The Pixies, the folk of Leonard Cohen, the fusion of Rage against the Machine, Buzzcocks punk...

Then in bulk that come to mind: the Beasty Boys, Chemical Brothers, Unkle, Underworld, Massive Attack, The Cure, Black Eyed Peas. These last few groups are part of electronic music in the broad sense. That is to say who uses samples, drum machines, synths.

There are more recent bands but they don't come to mind.
