If you are AN ACCOMPLISHED INSTRUMENTALIST-SONGWRITER and are ready to embark on a potentially life-changing journey into the most uncharted territories of music creativity, this might be for you.

Requirements include a first-rate IMPROVISATIONAL BACKGROUND as well as a ‘supernatural’ GIFT FOR INTUITIVE INTERACTION and 'INSTANT' VOCAL HARMONIES; then, of course, in keeping with the project's name, a deep, lifetime LOVE FOR THE SONG-FORM. A plus: MULTI-GENRE exposure, SOCIAL MEDIA/VIDEO SKILLS and MULTI-INSTRUMENTAL ABILITIES (Guitarists).

"IMPROV SONGS" (="IS") is a revolutionary way to rethink the songwriting craft, and music creativity in general. "IS" is an endeavor that probably hasn't ever been attempted before in our contemporary world. A quintessentially live project, this is how "IS" works: Audience members provide their own short, off-the-cuff poems, usually created on the spot; A SMALL ENSEMBLE OF SKILLFUL IMPROVISATIONAL MUSICIANS ("IS"), 'responds' to each poem by composing a one-of-a-kind impromptu song, often incorporating the poet’s name in it, in XII century troubadour fashion. A true creativity powerhouse, with a monthly average of 100-plus fully arranged and recorded new songs to choose from, "IMPROV SONGS" IS A DIVERGENT SONGWRITER'S DREAM.

The guy behind "IS", Francesco, a.k.a. "Maestro Melody" (="MM"), is a born 'instant' melody-maker, as well as a vocalist and a composer. As a musicologist, voice specialist and (semi-)serious thinker, "MM" has dedicated his life to the study of...'Everything Melody', across epochs, genres and styles. In one of his previous incarnations, Francesco was the founding member of the multiple award-winning experimental a cappella trio "TRINOVOX". "MM" has recently relocated to Charlottesville from San Francisco with his family. In the Bay Area he had several opportunities to test the "IS" concept in front of live audiences.
