I never picked up an instrument until I was 49 years old. My first goal was to just play a song. That has progressed to the point where I know I need to play with others more often if I'm going to continue to improve. I play with another guitarist/vocalist every few weeks, but I'm looking for more. I'd like to experience playing in a full band, and have aspirations of playing out eventually. My current skills enable me to learn songs pretty quickly, as long as it's strumming or finger style. My lead playing is still very basic. I'm very committed to setting up practice time and to learning new songs/syles. My main focus areas up til now have been folk music and blues.
