ABOUT

I am a 41yo singer/songwriter/guitarist based out of Ashburn, Virginia. I'm seeking out other nearby songwriters for collaboration. My goal is to form a Power Pop band and write, record and perform original, catchy rock songs with vocal harmonies, and to use Power Pop as a platform to further explore musical interests.

I've been writing original music on my own for a long time, and I hope you have songwriting experience as well. Some samples are available on on another music sharing site that Bandmix blocks but it starts with an S and ends with a D. at /snowmen.

The major influences for this band would be groups like The Beatles, Big Star, Jimmy Eat World, Rooney, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, Fountains of Wayne, the Gin Blossoms, Barenaked Ladies, and other rock bands from the mid-60s and early 90s. I of course like many other artists and genres and I'm hoping a Power Pop foundation can be a framework for getting creative.

I chiefly play guitar, but also write on keyboard, and have played bass in the studio. I am in the baritone range and I hope to find others who can also sing so that we can incorporate vocal harmonies.

I had previously played in a local cover band and have experience playing a wide range of different kinds of music, from classic and modern rock to ska and pop. I have played tons of covers but for this I want to focus principally on original music.

I have access to a private rehearsal space in the Herndon area that can accommodate a full band.

For my background, I have a full-time professional career and family but I do spend most of my free time on music.
