ABOUT

Ok, so you aren't used to having a flute in your band. Too bad!

I've played in rock, country, blues, and jazz bands for years and years. I have a good ear and I can improvise (I sometimes play open mics where people have their own originals, and I play along having never heard them before...). I play some of the local open mics (O'Sullivans, St. Tropez, Legacy Brewery, etc.) and if you haven't heard me or played with me, get in touch and we can go jam!

I've done some studio work, including fills for commercials, recording my own band's demo, and dubbing in flute tracks for a reggae band.

I was in a jazz standards (real book stuff) band for a few years but it folded. Now I'm looking for a new band, and not necessarily just jazz. My girlfriend was the singer in that band, but she's also into 80's, 70's rock and R&B as well. We're both looking. If you're a guitarist, drummer, bassist, keyboardist we're interested. We want to put together a band to play gigs - not just sit around in the garage. But we also believe in PRACTICE - our last band gigged 1/week and met 1/month to learn new songs and work out snags.

I love to play - I'll learn any song, any genre...

EQUIPMENT

Full PA with 4 channels of wireless/handhelds and beltpacks. Feedback reduction. Speakers: 2 mains, 2 monitors, 24-channel road mixer. Smaller amps (Peavey Bandits) for gigs that don't require or are too small for the PA. Got lots of other stuff too - keyboards, big guitar amps, oboe, sax, lots of stuff I'm promising myself I'll learn... Basically we got everything except your instrument and your personal amp/effects. My personal frontend has a Roland SRE-555 tape echo and a tube preamp.

I usually travel light; a flute, and sometimes a mic and combo amp. The PA is for gigs where they don't have one...
