Spawned from his own creation, the calm cool intellectual Thelonious Dee emerges on the hip-hop scene with a unique blend of mind bending beats and thought provoking lyrics. This produce/emcee is reminiscent to an era when hip-hop flourished with individualism and vibrancy. His sound is a skillful mix of organic blends morphed by soulful samples and hard banging drums/percussion. Although heavily influenced by music his whole entire life, Thelonious Dee’s interest in producing wouldn’t come until later. Beginning his production quest in 2004, Thelonious has transformed a passion into an all out love affair with music. “Lyrically I was always influence by emcees and groups like: Rakim, Mos Def, J-Live, Pharaoh Monch, Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and Wu-Tang Clan,” Says Thelonious “As for producers I always liked, DJ Premier, Showbiz, Pete Rock, J-Dilla, Mad Lib, and Just Blaze.”
