Band to Join.ABOUT
Somewhere past beginner, quickly approaching intermediate bass player. I started older (I'm in my late 30s), but I’m a fairly quick learner, have a solid practice ethic, generally not a d-head, and can commit to one night a week (possibly more) for band practice. I also have a somewhat comfortable practice space at my house that I'm hoping to turn into a fully functional practice room as soon as I find time to do it.
I understand some and am continuing to learn music theory. I can communicate in notes and major/minor scales. I'm still learning to internalize modes and intervals. If you hand me a chord chart (or tell me the chords), I can play the roots. With enough time practicing the piece on my own, I can probably add some flavor beyond the roots. I'm hoping to start writing some of my own bass lines asap. I'm pretty good with keeping time, but I'd like to play with a drummer (not just a metronome) so I can definitively confirm or refute that.
I would love to play with people to make some friends, make some music, have fun, and learn from other musicians. Playing gigs would be the holy grail moment for me, and something I've wanted to do my entire life.

EQUIPMENT
EBMM Stingray 5 string bass. I'm getting by with a Fender Rumble 25 right now. However, I have a Green Matamp 200w tube amp on order from UK (probably 2 months out) that's waiting to be mated with a 6x10 Ampeg cab.
