Vandex is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Formely bass and lyrics from Úteros em Furia, one of the best-known Brazilian independent bands in the nineties. Vandex is often said to be influenced by Os Mutantes, a famous brazilian tropicalist group from the 1960s, probably because of the experimentalism found in his songs. One can find in Vandex musical influences by Beck, Tom Zé, Radiohead, Pink Floyd,Jorge Ben, João Gilberto, and also MPB, among various others.
He takes Brazilian music and fuse it with Jazz, rock and American psychedelia to create a distinctive, vibrant new sound.
