ABOUT

Ant began studying music at the early age of three and was groomed by singer, songwriter and tap dancer, Joe Jackson (his dad). Although he grew up in a musical family with a powerful gospel influence, the Newark, New Jersey native was moved and inspired by the incredible R&B sounds of Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Enchantment and Earth, Wind & Fire. As a young boy, Ant spent lots of time performing and arranging vocals for a group with his siblings called "The Jacksons". During his teenage years, Ant was hired as a featured vocalist in a polished local R&B group called "The Spice". At the same time, Mr. Jackson was becoming quite popular in the New Jersey area for his skills as a choir master. In the mid 80's, Ant became the music director for the renown performance troop "Return To The Source". Jazz is also a part of this artist's profile. Ant studied with and was mentored by the late jazz giant, Aaron Bell. During a performance, Ant was noticed by Donnie Harper of The New Jersey Mass Choir and began to work on several projects with the choir. Ant was a featured vocalist with the choir on the grammy nominated song "Hold Up The Light". In the late 90's, Professor Jackson taught and conducted the gospel choir at Seton Hall University. There are several musical styles and flavors that make Ant Jackson the diverse artist and songwriter that he has come to be. He is inspired by and pulls from every genre of music that he has been exposed to. However, the message is always inspirational and can be summed up in one word---L-O-V-E. To his credit, Ant has worked with Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Carly Simon, Faith Evans, Max Roach, Ice T, Andre Crouch, Karen Clark-Sheard and Chaka Kahn.
