ABOUT

Northern Virginia metal band Cab Ride Home brings together a group of pure music fans who love to party and have a good time. We are named after a crazy night founding members Dan and Deac (along with eventual member Masten) had at Jaxx Nightclub in October 05, ending with an infamous cab ride home. Cab Ride Home is here to make a statement on what metal and hard rock is supposed to be about: having a good time!

We formed in May 2006 with lead guitarist Enock. Drummer James Masten joined in December 2006 and we began performing live in April 2007. Bane took over rhythm guitar duties from Dan in January 2009 and made his live debut as a full-time member Feb. 6, 2009 at Jaxx. Cab Ride Home became Dan on vocals, Deac on bass, Masten on drums and Enock and Bane on guitars. CRH and Deac officially parted ways in October 2009 following a performance in front of a near-capacity crowd as direct support to the Misfits at Jaxx. We are recruiting a new full-time bassist.

National/International touring acts we have performed with:
Drowning Pool, Diecast, Lennon, Katatonia, Scar Symmetry, Insomnium, Swallow the Sun, Mushroomhead, After Forever, Psyclon Nine, The Agonist, God Forbid, Ill Nino, Droid, Ekotren, Arsis, SkeletonWitch, Veil of Maya, Bella Morte, Shadows Fall, Kataklysm, The Showdown, Brand New Sin, Wednesday 13, Sex Slaves, Adversary, Salt the Wound, Woe of Tyrants, Left to Vanish, Threat Signal, Thy Will Be Done, Flatline, Psychostick, Chthonic, Misfits

"When I had the chance to pick up The Intoxicated Massacre and listen to it with the aim of doing a review, I frankly couldn't! I was so hooked on the music that I forgot to concentrate and point out the flaws and the good things. It's just plain amazing. For a local band, this would be called a perfect album. With seven tracks, ranging from groove to heaviest riffs on earth, Cab Ride Home has created an amazing mixture of old and new styles that will keep your neck hurting until the day after the show!" - Nik Casey, Virginia Metal Alliance

"Aptly titled The Intoxicated Massacre, it is a seven song litre filled to the brim with hoppy metal. Think mid-80’s Hetfield in his liver ruining prime, at the height of his blackout drunkenness, trying to play a few riffs for some lucky ladies backstage…that’s the sort of music Cab Ride Home embodies. It’s a healthy mix between Dethlok, Swashbuckle, and The Haunted. With songs that every honest beer swiller can relate to, like “Drunk on Arrival”, Cab Ride Home is a fun but strangely serious metal band…and let’s be honest, how often can you say that? One of the more enjoyable things about the upstart Virginia based act is that they’re overtly less gimmicky than these dime a dozen donkey performers who dress up like circus acts. Having opened up for many a metal act at the world famous Jaxx in Virginia, Cab Ride Home have certainly outlined their intentions and can hardly be classified as a “local” act. They’re musically sound, put on a tight, energetic live performance, and have smartly invested in their future. You can never take yourself too seriously, but seeing five guys band together in the name of beer and metal with the hope to stake their claim in the industry – I’ll toast to that." - SMNnews
