ABOUT

I play rhythm and/or lead guitar. I have no problem with sharing guitar duties/parts.

On musicianship: I’m dependable I show up, get to the practice/gig, setup and tune before the downbeat (on time, means you’re late). I also believe that learning material is for practice time, not rehearsals.

In terms of my lead playing: I favor soulful melodic playing over shredding. I have a heavy blues style, with some country/southern rock inflections. I am willing to adapt and learn new styles in the service of the project.

Regarding my rhythm playing: one aspect of my experience/approach that helps me stand out is that I know how to blend in and let others shine when it’s called for. I also know how to differentiate my parts to avoid muddying the guitars.

I’m open to original or cover bands. Ideally I like to play in bands where everyone can operate freely in their own lanes and add interesting details that build on one another. If covering, I’d rather sound good than “right,” meaning I’m not interested in playing a note-for-note tribute approach, but would rather find ways to breath new life into the material.
