ABOUT

I've been singing and writing songs since I was a kid, always in choir, stuff like that. Went away from it for a while into the real world doing stuff I mostly hated. Now I'm back. Picked up guitar and started learning this past year and now I can't stop. I've always wanted to sing in a band, but I have never known what magic allows people to find bands. Maybe this place has something? Not sure what I'm waiting around for, not like the world is getting any less insane by the day...

Influences

Born and raised in the 80s but a child of long-haired hippies including a father who could shred like David Gilmour. Loved classic rock as a kid, most especially Rush, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Yes, Zeppelin and the like. Went through a pretty hard grunge/alternative/indie phase in the mid 90s/early 2000s. I can get down with anything from say Tom Petty or Heart or Fleetwood Mac (original and Stevie versions) to Talking Heads to Radiohead or Kidney Thieves or NIN or Smashing Pumpkins or Tool or Dave Matthews or Tori Amos or The Decemberists or folk or bluegrass or metal or... hm. Truly I love all kinds of music (except for maybe that horrid auto-tuned adult contemporary dumpster fire passing as "contemporary country" these. Just... No.)

EQUIPMENT

An ovation C44 acoustic electric, an Ibanez acoustic, a classical acoustic (for practice when my fingers hurt from playing the other two), my dad left me his '67 Gibson which is badass but I'm just not there yet, a Boss RC505 Loop Station Pedal, at least one Shure SM58 mic, two small fender amps including an Acoustasonic, various hand drums including an ocean drum and two Meinl udu drums (one water, one not).
