ABOUT

Been playing music since I was in the fourth grade, started out on percussion, but my family wasn't wealthy enough to get me a full kit, so I picked up the bass at 12 and played with several local punk/metal bands. Decided to get lessons at 16 for the bass and became obsessed with Jazz for quite a while, and really wanted to be Jaco Pastorius, even ripped out the frets of my electric bass at the time.
Fell in love with this punk-rock chick that went to school for Vocal Jazz Assemble and played bass for her in several projects, mostly covers of 80s tunes, married her and we supported ourselves doing local bar gigs for 5 years. I got divorced and moved to cali, she got most of my equipment in the divorce, so I'm back in the market for new gear (aren't we all of the time anyway?)
I'll play anything, I was in a West-African band for a while, King Sunny Ade kinda vibe. I dig blues open mic nights, fun and easy to jump into. Love just jamming with folks as well, I don't mind cover bands, but I've found picking a 40 song set list that actually works VS. what I want to play a bit aggravating. I used to play Bass for a live theater production of Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I would LOVE to play bass for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar! I've done some studio work with local bands in Maine, mostly solo artists who only wanted backing on their recorded materials.
I had a shot lived time teaching music/theory for bass, piano, and percussion, but COVID kind of ruined it and I never got enough students back.
I'd really be into networking with some guitar players and drummers and maybe playing around with some original material or getting involved with a theater group that could use a versatile musician.
Send me some tracks and I'd be happy to create a bassline for it and see what you think.
