I will be moving to Naples, FL this fall and want to start a project with musicians down there. The project is to play progressive music from various bands from the late 60s through the 70s.
The idea is to play a variety of progressive songs and do approximately 12 or more shows per year. So this is not exactly a touring band, but more of a “tribute” band that plays mostly on weekends around Florida. So you’ll be home most of the time during the week.
What I need are players that can play the exact music and tone of the original bands. Some of them will be ELP, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Genesis, etc. So if you like to play this kind of music, this project may be for you. It will definitely be more challenging that playing the normal bar music.
We will put together a 2-3 hour show with professional level equipment. I’ve created a proposed set list for a 2 hour show. It will be very easy to extend this for another hour or 1 1/2 hours.
Right now, I expect that we will begin to learn the material. When I get to Naples, we can start full in-person rehearsals.
I need the following players:
Vocals
Guitar
Drums
Keyboard - Must be able to load up various synth plugins and nail the sound of the originals
Soprano Sax and Flute player- hopefully the same person :)
