Deidra Hughes has been singing since the tender age of four. From the time she first stepped on the stage at Praise the Lord (with Jim and Tammy Bakker) in 1983 she has been ministering the gospel of Christ. Her desire to serve the Lord and minister to the needs of the church has been growing exponentially. As she takes a step of faith into a somewhat new direction, the calling that God has placed on her life has evolved into much more than just performing, it is striving to make an eternal deposit into the hearts of everyone she meets.

As her professional career began at the age of 20, she followed in the footsteps of her father and mother, Robert and Joleen Vander Maten, as she sang with one of the most sought after groups since the early 70s. Roger Breland and Truth was her beginning to the wonderful world of ministry that took her through two years of singing coast to coast including several other countries throughout the world, To name a few; the Philippines, Africa, and even Hong Kong. During her travels with Truth, she performed over 300 concerts a year in front of thousands of different cultures and backgrounds.

She also shared the stage with Melissa Greene from Avalon, and new upcoming artist Anthony Evans, the son of Pastor Tony Evans in Dallas, Texas. As one of Deidras closest friends, Melissa had a few things to share about the heart of Deidras ministry.
