With a slew of producers jackin’ beats and recycling exhausted radio riffs, the sounds produced by Eugene Shakhov feel like a cold shower after an August run through the California mountains; spine-tingling freshness that seeps deep into your pores. Hailing from Russia, Eugene became a musician at the tender age of 6 when he learned how to play the button-accordion (it’s more hardcore than you think). He entered music school at age 7, music college at 16 and the prestigious Saint Petersburg State Conservatory (the Russian equivalent of Julliard) at age 19. Years of classical training, as well as exposure to the American/European music scenes, have given Eugene a diverse background and a unique ear to develop his own signature sound and even though he hails from Russia his tracks are far from frozen.

Eugene became inspired to become a hip-hop/r&b producer after hearing Dr. Dre’s “Chronic: 2001” album and hasn’t turned back since. Since 2003, the artists he now works with everyday inspire him in different ways to create beautiful, innovative music. He has scored over 50 videos, hundreds of audiobooks, and won Bronze and Silver Tally awards in 2005 for scoring a documentary.

Eugene isn't just your average music producer. He puts heavy emphasis on vocal productions, not by just concentrating on pitch correction, annunciation adjustments and cadence alignment (that he's great at!), but by creating multiple voice harmonies and unique vocal approaches for each of his artists. Listen to whispers on his "Cash Out" song, as an example, to see how these work with other vocals and the track and, more importantly, to what it does to the song.
