ABOUT

29-year-old drummer available for sessions, fill-ins, or joining a band

I have been performing and practicing heavily for 12 years and have a unique voice behind the kit heavily rooted in rock with experience as a member of a plethora of small local bands, an occasional fill-in, musical theater pits, and a member of two college jazz ensembles (big band and quartet/trio).

Especially proficient with Latin rhythms and double bass playing and not afraid of odd meters. I can learn songs quickly and unless otherwise noted, learn songs as closely to the recording/demo as possible; I have begun to notice that I can be a significant musical presence in any band and try to add a unique "flavor" to any song. I try not to step on anyone's toes, but a healthy dose of critique and weirdness is always good in my mind. Powerful chops but not against playing simple time.

I am based in Williamsburg, VA and commute to Newport News for work. Currently on call for a potential assignment in Aiken, South Carolina so not sure how long I can commit to something atm.

other info: drug and alcohol free; don't care too much of other people's choices, but I do not partake.

EQUIPMENT

Drums:
Tama Superstar in Silver Sparkle: 8/10/12/14/16 with 22 bass drum and Pearl Free-Floating snare; the exact arrangement changes from group to group: some bands I've scaled it down to a four piece, others I've thrown all the bells and whistles into it. it has the flexibility to serve whatever the musical goal is.

Zildjian Cymbals from every line (A, A Custom, K, and K Constantinople)
