Gyp Taylor is a very accomplished and an extremely proficient guitarist, composer, and arranger for his age. Born and raised in Prior Lake, MN he began to play the guitar at the age of 12 with assistance from his father. Immediately interested in Jimmy Hendrix, Slayer, Metallica, & Frank Zappa he began to put together his own style. In the years fallowing, he became very proficient with Blues & Metal. Having a 9 to 5 work ethic, Gyp soon started putting in 40-50 hour practice weeks. Being all self taught and with lose to 13 years of guitar behind his belt, Gyp to some extent is unlike any other guitarist around. Outside of playing guitar full time, Gyp attended UNL (University of Nebraska Lincoln) with an emphasis in Oceanography. While being a student at UNL Gyp got an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Gyp Taylor was one of the founding members who helped start back up Tau Kappa Epsilon Phi Chapter. After spending a short amount of time at UNL, Gyp soon moved back up to the twin cities to attend UMN (University of Minnesota) but soon realized he'd rather pursue music full time instead just like he'd been doing. By the age of 20, Gyp realized he wanted to do guitar full time & putting his work in, soon gained attention from all over the cities. Currently Gyp Taylor is in the midst of a new project, putting together his band. With this band, Gyp hopes to find extremely talented musicians who are willing to put the work, time, and dedication to forming a band that is very precise and very well put together.
