ABOUT

This is the Bandmix page for Atlanta artist, Joe Aielli. Joe is a singer/songwriter/keyboardist/producer who has Atlanta industry contacts and a wealth of musical experience. This page was set up by Wes Freeman (guitarist and backing vocalist for Joe) in an effort to reach out to highly skilled players of all instruments who are interested in what we do and are looking to be part of a creative, original project. The nature of the project is such that we are always interested in collaborating with musicians who may not play an instrument that we see as being core to our sound, even if it's for a one-time or semi-regular recording(s)/performance(s) only. We regularly post videos (which can be viewed at the links below) and we are looking to bring other musicians into those productions as well. Our immediate objective is to assemble the core of a regular band to perform with asap. The core elements we feel we are in need of right now are drums, bass and either another guitarist (lead being the main function) and/or keyboardist/performing DJ. Having said that, if you are a great player of an instrument not listed here and you're interested in what we do, we'd love to talk to you! There is a place for horns/sax, strings, percussion, ukulele, mandolin, banjo and most other instruments in what we do (If you're a good clapper and snapper you might even find a home with us!). It would be very beneficial if you are a skilled singer, as much of our material involves BGV stacks, and we will need several backing vocalists long-term.

Here are a few quotes about Joe from Atlanta industry folks:

Shawn Grove (engineer for Collective Soul) said, "Man this guy can play! He's got a great classic R&B/pop vibe a la Michael Jackson as well as a jazz/blues fusion taste with incredible musicianship. Can't wait to see this project out in a live show setting - people will not be disappointed."

Tom Knight (drummer for TLC, Monica and Director of Marketing for the Atlanta Institute of Music) said "Joe Aielli's "Wait On You" represents the kind of music I love to listen to...the kind of music I love to play...the kind of music that forces me to disengage my ipod's shuffle option--switching it repeat mode instead. With incredibly mature performances from every member of the ensemble and the resulting confluence of pure, funky, feel-good music--mixed with crystal clear production--existing fans will undoubtedly fall in love with the group all over again. And for the rest of those who are not yet familiar, I foresee a hell of a lot of "Shazam-ing" going on any time this song hits the air waves."

"Mama Jan" Smith (famed Atanta-based vocal coach whose client list includes Usher, Justin Bieber, Rob Thomas, The Band Perry, Keri Hilson, India Arie, Trey Songz and more) said "Joe Aielli has an infectious heart...in a good way! It shines through his music as well as his smile and draws you in for the pure enjoyment of watching and listening to someone who performs his music with every ounce of himself -- a lesson that many an artist nowadays could stand to learn."
