I have played the drums since high school, mostly with family and friends and the occasional band, squeezing in time from a demanding career as a high school teacher. I am an experienced sound technician and enjoy performing live. Now retired, it would be great to work with more fellow travelers, creative musicians who know how to entertain and develop a personal musical style.

Influences
From the rock of my youth, the funk and punk of my college years, and directing 30 years of high school talent shows, exposed me to a wide swath of music, whatever made me want to dance and move to a groove.
I have always tried to emulate the drumming of Charlie Watts of the Stones , Alan Myers of Devo or Jim Eno of Spoon; tight, synchronized rhythms played without many embellishments.
I tend to abhor drum solos, unless it is by a group of percussionists. Whatever the song, I appreciate anyone who, like James Brown, can see every instrument as a drum.
