ABOUT

I started playing guitar when I was 16 years old. Back then it was all electric however, recently, I have been exploring more eclectic mix of acoustic compositions. I played in a band in the Chicago area while in high school. We played local gigs for a couple years and even won a Chicago area battle of the bands contest. But that is the extend of my live performance experience. More recently, I started working on mandolin and harmonica. I am looking to collaborate with other musicians (specifically, mandolin, violin, cello and piano) on various styles as well as, original works. Formerly, I am a recording engineer and old school analog multi track studio owner (Boulder 1977 - 1988). I recorded, Steven Stills, Prince, Bella Flec, Pete Wernick, Leo Kottke, Randy California (Spirit), Peter Kater, Paco De Lucia and more... Obviously, a recording studio engineer records all kinds of music. These musicians were so incredible, I put down my guitar and focused on making them sound great. I have recently rekindled my passion for playing music all over again.

Influences

I'm a guitar hack but I love a wide range of genres from blues, jazz, pop, rock to r & b, gospel, etc., John Fullbright, Mat Kearney, BB King, Robin Ford and working on learning more complex guitar, Tommy Emmanuel, Ralph Towner, Ryan Tilby and some Chet Atkins kind of stuff. Would love to learn bluegrass, but it scares the heck out of me. Let's jam!
