SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Recently relocated back home to the Reading PA area - Looking to join working band interested in adding a new dimension to the sound. Mandolin, Lead/Rhythm Guitar and Lead & Background Vocals. Excellent Improvisational Skills. Reliable. Dedicated to a high quality performance, original music and interpretative covers (rdkennedy1<at><dot>com).
Throughout the 80's, I played guitar & bass with various local classic and southern rock bands. Did a 1 year stint as an upright bass player for a 5 piece Bluegrass Band. In the 90' I was playing with a county rock band when I started playing mandolin. Traditionally the mandolin is viewed as a country, bluegrass instrument. Over the last 15 years, I have dedicated myself to taking the mandolin to new places. I am definitely not your typical mandolin player. I have played with duos, trios and quartets, acoustic/electric venues performing Blues, R&B & Rock of all styles. Looking to join small acoustic/electric band looking to create somthing different.

Influences
Started playing guitar when I was 8. First Band: I played bass in high school jazz band. I grow up in 60's & 70's listening to all the classic rock bands: Stones, Zepplin, Areosmith, Bad Co, etc. even the Beatles (probably my least favorite band). Favorite Genres: Acoustic/Electric, Classic & Southern Rock. Favorite Bands: Allman Bros, Marshall Tucker, Skynard, etc. Carlos Santana is my latin rock inspiration. Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff my favorite Regge Artists. A band call Chesapeake inspired my interest the mandolin. Today, I hope to do for the mandolin, what Bela Fleck has done for the Banjo.
