ABOUT

I play drums and seriously dabble in guitar and synth. I am interested in composing and recording orginal music. I would like to build a repetoire of originals with the ultimate goal of presenting the music live to an appreciative audience. That audience is probably not in a bar but who knows.

I've been through the "band thing" and toted my crap all over town. No interest in that and not looking to make a living playing music. Much more interested in evoking an emotional response from the listener or producing a quality recording. This is a serious hobby for me.

What I want to cook up is melodic psychedelic power pop with moments of prog, fusion and ambient. Deviations welcomed if
the vibe is right. I dig improvisation, too. Finding a charismatic female writer/singer who loves music (and has good pitch!) to front the project would be great.

It makes most sense if you are a composing guitarist/synthesist, keyboard or bass player. Swap some mp3's and see if there is any interest. Then a jam to figure out if we can actually play our instruments live with enough facility to support improv, groove, etc. Please have some chops. Then proceed to fleshing out ideas and tracking. If it evolves, add people along the way when and if it makes sense. My tools are Sonar and Reason.

My thought is influenced by Buddhist notions of impermanence, compassion and transcendence and all the earthly emotions as well. Sense of humor and openness to possibilities very helpful.
