About
I am a dedicated musician, and try to stick with other dedicated musicians. I currently play in a local band, called The Hearts of Men. We regularly play shows in the Central/Southern Maryland area. Although they are my priority, I am always looking for musicians to jam with once in a while. I am also always for hire, so if you are in need of a stand in drummer for shows, studio recordings or just jamming, hit me up.
I like to experiment a lot with music, and try to push myself to add tasteful flavor in new ways. I really enjoy playing with musicians that strive for creativity. They don't have to make it complex - just catchy or with emotion. I also enjoy playing covers. I'm talking about the entire song, too, and not just a catchy 20 second part. :)
I learned my percussion basics in Seattle, where I grew up. After joining the Navy and being stationed in Oklahoma, I joined several bands, ranging from psychedelic rock to red dirt country. We played many shows and spent a lot of time in the studio. Now, I'm here in Maryland, looking to continue my career, hobby, and passion in music.

Influences
I grab influences from many different areas. I started out with Classical music, playing the snare drum. Once I moved on to the drum set, I was surrounded by jazz. My idols during the early years were Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa. I consider jazz to be the toughest, yet most rewarding style of music to play. Recently, most of my inspiration comes from Danny Carey, the drummer from Tool, and the most creative drummer I have ever heard - in my opnion. He shows many hints of jazz in his playing, but makes it mesh very well for their progressive rock sound.
