While keeping one foot firmly planted in the singer/songwriter tradition, Mike's versatile sound has not only drawn comparisons to Dylan, but also to Tom Waits, Radiohead and Floyd, the beat-jazz poetry of Kerouac; while occasionally crooning an old tin pan ally tune.

Mike has been described as 'better than Bob Dylan!' Mike descends from a long line of musicians from folk musicians on his mother's side to country and gospel on his father's side.

Mike has performed in a wide range of musical settings, from alternative rock to solo classical guitar to crooning 1920s-40s popular songs; he also makes quite a hit around the campfire. He is a proficient experimental filmmaker and animator, providing a dynamic visual accompaniment to much of his music.
