My first love was to sing and I have been doing that over the last many years in various venues - from folk to blues to jazz to classical - and still would like to be doing it! My voice at its peak was three and a half octaves but now as I am over 50, it has come down to right at three. I am a die hard folkie, but have been seriously and permanantly influenced by jazz and blues. I have been a serious songwriter for many years and have contributed to one film, sung at festivals and in clubs, to audiences of all kinds.
At present I am looking for women musicians to form a group that would present music that is meaningful, lovely and even a bit political. While I love to sing, I am an excellent arranger (a year at Berklee College gave me great skills,) and would love to be a more behind the scenes person in a group that featured some great vocalists. I think music is a healing art, and that is what I would like to do with it again - even though I am pushing 54 and no longer eye candy!
