Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums.

ABOUT

I am a bass player looking to join or form a band. My musical interest varies from Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Straight Ahead Jazz, and Smooth Jazz and maybe even some Hip Hop or Classic Rock. My skills are intermediate, I can read charts (sight on chords, but notes need a little more time), I don't know a lot of songs, but I can figure out from ear or with sheet music. Before moving to Texas I played in a church band where we had a guess artist each week and we were learning 3 to 4 different songs each week.
I am currently woodshedding on some just fundamentals including major II-V-I, minor II-V-I, B♭ and D♭ Blues progressions and then applying to a few Jazz Standards…Tenor Madness, Things Ain’t What They Used to Be, and Autumn Leaves. If this sounds interesting, then keep reading. My objective is really just to play, but to have a few gigs a month and possibly something every weekend would be a dream come true. I don't plan to quit my day job; however, I plan to focus on performance and development of my skills as if it where my day job.

Influences

My influences and interests are Parliament, Prince, Ray Brown, James Brown, Horace Silver, Larry Graham, Miles Davis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings…you get the idea; however, I am open to Rock and lately have really focusing on Jazz.
