ABOUT

I am looking to get involved as a vocalist with a band or musicians looking to get something formed. Ideally the sound would be along the lines of hardcore/post-hardcore or punk/rock. Looking for a group of guys around my age (30's) to practice and play in or around the Jersey City area.

I have been involved with three bands back from my high school days through current day. A little about my experience:

Band 1 - Emo/Screamo. I played rhythm guitar and added back up vocals/screams. We played a bit around the central Jersey area in the mid 2000's.
Band 2 - Straight Rock n Roll (think current day AC/DC). I played rhythm guitar and did lead vocals as well as writing lyrics. We did not perform live, but did record a number of songs.
Band 3 - Post-hardcorce/Alternative Rock. I play rhythm guitar and add back up vocals/screams. We've released an EP and a single with a double about to be released.

My current band is sort of falling apart and I've always wanted to front a band as a vocalist. While I never had a ton of confidence in singing I've always received compliments when I do and have been trying to work up the courage to try and get involved as a full time vocalist. I would say my style tends to be very gravely/rock n rollish to screaming. I'm trying to focus on vocals, but I do play guitar. Pretty much everything I've played up till now in my life on guitar has been handed to me to learn. I'm a proficient player, but not well trained in theory, etc., so I'd rather stick to vocals.

I can share recordings of band 2 I described as well as song tracks from the other two bands I described where I add some back ups/screams. I am dedicated and really want to get something real going. If a band or group of musicians is willing to work with me and give me a fair shot I'm confident I have a lot to offer. On the performing side I am very comfortable having played a number of shows with my previous bands.
