ABOUT

Somewhat new to the Bay Area, relocated from Denver and looking to find like-minded musicians to start something that would ultimately result in playing shows in the area. I'm in my 30's, have a real job with no aspirations or unrealistic expectations aside from finding people to make some great music with and have fun in the process. Only requirements are that you have a great attitude, contribute, and can make a commitment of practicing as a group once a week. I live in El Cerrito and actually have enough space where I live to accommodate rehearsals, but also have no problem traveling to other parts of the Bay Area, going in on a rehearsal space eventually, etc.

I really have no hard-set expectations of what this should be...I'm up for anything from a bare-bones duo (I play guitar and pretend to dabble in bluegrass/Scruggs-style banjo) to a full blown band with multi-instrumentalists with pedal steel, fiddle, a couple guitars, bass, drums, vocals (male or female) etc. Would mostly be into creating original music, but also would not be opposed to the occasional cover where we put our on original twist on it.

Influences are all over the board from classic country (think George Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson,Neil Young, etc.) to more 'modern' stuff like Son Volt, Wilco, Jayhawks, Ryan Adams and the list goes on. I have quite a bit of songs (music) and ideas written but am not the most prolific writer, so collaboration with vocals would be wonderful!

Here's a link to a band a was playing with in Denver and a song I wrote. s://./watch?v=RXqWbV4lORM

Also have a lot of basic ideas, riffs, etc. here on : s:///sbpark76

Ultimately this really should just be fun but also have some send of commitment. We all have busy lives and have to make a living obviously, but if you can't commit to one day a week this probably wouldn't be the best project for you. If you're interested and think this might be something you're into feel free to write. We can meet and chat over a beer, maybe play some music, etc.
