ABOUT
Inspired from a long list of old and contemporary music, local Denver roots band The String Resistance writes originals and covers bands like the Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones, Ben Harper, The Lone Bellow, and Shovels and Rope ( to name a few), traditional songs, Gospel, Blues, Rock, Reggae, and anything else that touches the soul. Made almost entirely of friends who teach high school (ranging in age from late 20's to early 40's), the band emphasizes vocal harmonies and roots instruments like the banjo, mandolin, steel guitar and ukulele. The main goal of the band is to gig/rehearse 2-3/month, play good /quality music, and play to the largest crowds possible in the Denver area by establishing a local following, and having fun. We are always looking to CONNECT WITH OTHER BANDS of similar musical tastes to collaborate with and promote shows. We are also thrilled to have added our new drummer Jake Hyman formerly of the Freelance Whales in New York.
