Salted
Salted Track number: 1 Year: 2015 Album: Salted (Single) Genre: Alternative
Used a mix of fretted and fretless bass on this great alt-indie tune. Ran my Spector both through a DI and mic'd my Fender Bassman 400 running clean through SWR 2x10" Goliath Jr cab. Cranked up the treble a bit and played with a pick to really get the driving attack and push the song. Later over-dubbed my fretless direct to the board. Maddy Toy on vocals, Dave Powell on electric guitar, Tony Perez on drums. Tracked at the Ex'pression College studios in Emeryville, engineered by the awesome Scott Miller. Mixed by the incredible Laura Dean at the Women's Audio Mission in San Francisco.

Seaside
Seaside Track number: 2 Year: 2015 Album: Salted (Single) B-Side Genre: Acoustic
Me on upright bass on this great Indie tune (a little ukelele, too!). No amps or pickups, just mics capturing all the pure acoustics of the bass. Maddy Toy on vocals, Dave Powell on acoustic guitar, Tony Perez on drums. Tracked at the Ex'pression College studios in Emeryville, engineered by the awesome Scott Miller. Mixed by the incredible Laura Dean at the Women's Audio Mission in San Francisco.

Wild Night
Wild Night Track number: 3 Year: 2008 Album: Greek Wooden Buddha Demo Tracks Genre: Classic Rock
My long-time cover band, Greek Wooden Buddha, covering Mellencamp & Me'Shell Ndegeocello's cover of this classic Van Morrison tune. Ndegeocello's bass line in this version is one of my favorites, so I tried to do it justice. Played bass and sang back ups on this live rehearsal recording.

The Last Time
The Last Time Track number: 4 Year: 2008 Album: Greek Wooden Buddha Demo Tracks Genre: Country
Did electric bass and backing vocals of this live recording from my long-time cover band, Greek Wooden Buddha. With the recurring guitar line, I went for a simple, county-ish bass line (cut loose a little in the transition for solo), just keeping the song grounded and groovin'.

Back In The Chain Gang
Back In The Chain Gang Track number: 5 Year: 1998 Album: Just a Peek! Genre: Pop
Did session bass work and some backing vocals on this band's (Jüke Box) CD. This was a slightly softened cover of this Pretenders classic, so instead of driving it bit like the original, I floated the bass lines a bit more to give it a little easier feel.

Cold Shot
Cold Shot Track number: 6 Year: 1998 Album: Just a Peek! Genre: Blues
Did session bass work on this band's (Jüke Box) CD. Focus here was on staying in the pocket, but laying back just a bit to give it that Texas blues shuffle.

Crossroads
Crossroads Track number: 7 Year: 1998 Album: Just a Peek! Genre: Classic Rock
Did session bass work on this band's (Jüke Box) CD. Had a ton of fun cutting loose on on this tune. Balls-out rockin'! Pushed the solos right up to the edge of the cliff without losing control of the tune.
